VEPS Workshops 2008

Testing the VEPs tools at UDMSWorkshops to explore the use of 3D visualisation and online forums to engage people in planning were held in Bristol and Paris in March 2008.

The events used presentations, facilitated focus group discussions and interactive sessions to discuss issues such as:

  • do people find 3D plans easier to understand than 2D?
  • can 3D visualisation help people to understand issues such as flood risk?
  • does it allow effective commenting?
  • what is the future for online participation technology?
  • Presentations and a report of the Bristol event are available:

    VEPS Workshops 2006

VEPs workshopWe held a series of workshops in May 2006 with interested members of the public, politicians, planners and other professionals. These workshops built on those held in 2005 and included:

    • a short introduction to the project
    • a discussion of issues surrounding virtual planning
    • a hands-on demonstration of the first VEPs tools.

The feedback we received was used to help develop the current series of online web applications.

The VEPs partners would like to thank all those who gave up their valuable time to contribute to the project.

Notes from each workshop and a summary of the 2006 workshops are available:
