VEPs (Virtual Environmental Planning)

VEPs Demonstrations

The VEPs demonstrations will be evaluated in case studies across Europe to find out if people think the technology would be useful in the planning process. This feedback helps us to improve the applications so please view the demonstrations and let us know what you think.

3D Demonstrations

3D Comment Tool3D Comment Tool

This demonstration allows you to explore planning proposals in 2D and 3D, leave comments associated with specific buildings and view environmental information, such as flood models, from different viewpoints.

3D Participation Tool3D Participation Tool

This demonstration allows you to move around a city in 2D and choose to view specific planning proposals in 3D. You can then explore the 3D model and share your views on the development proposals in a discussion forum.

3D Masterplanner Tool
3D Masterplanner Tool

This demonstration allows you to move around a 3D city model, add or edit specific objects, such as buildings or wind turbines, within the model and save your comments and viewpoints for others to see.

2D Demonstrations

VR Commenting ToolVirtual Reality Commenting Tool

This demonstration allows you to move around a 2D map, view planning proposal information in 2D bubbles in the map and add comments on the proposals. You can also upload your own interactive panoramic images.

Urban Planning Participation ToolUrban Planning Participation Tool

This demonstration allows you to view planning proposal information as text and images in a 2D map. You can view comments made by others and leave your own. You can also create a discussion forum around specific topics.

Environmental Models

3D Flood Model3D Flood Model

This three-dimensional (3D) flooding simulation allows users to navigate around a 3D city model and run flood simulations of different intensities to see the impact of the event in the context of the existing buildings. Note: The flood simulations are illustrative examples only and are not the views of the Environment Agency of England and Wales.

3D Noise Model3D Noise Model

This three-dimensional (3D) noise simulation allows users to navigate around a 3D model of Rosensteinviertel, Stuttgart and view the noise simulations for the construction phase of the project. Note: There is currently no demonstration for this tool.
